Privacy Policy

Parcel Finder is a project by Miles Media. It helps you look up public property records in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. This page explains what the site collects when you use it and what we do with it.

What we collect

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how people use the site: which pages and properties get opened, how long visits last, the kind of device and browser, the general area a visit comes from, and how people found the site. It sets cookies to tell visits apart. We don't use it for advertising and we don't sell any of it. You can block it with Google's opt-out browser add-on or your browser's privacy settings.

Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard request details such as the page requested and your IP address. We use them to keep the site running and fix problems, and they're kept for a short time.

What stays on your device

• Properties you've opened are saved in your browser's local storage so they show up under Recent next time. They never leave your device, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
• Your location is used only if you tap the locate button, and only after your browser asks you. It moves the map to where you are. It isn't sent to us or stored.

Searches and property lookups

Address, parcel ID and deed searches run in your browser against data published with the site. When you open a property, our server fetches that property's public pages from the Allegheny County Real Estate Portal to show its owner, sales, taxes and comparable sales.

Owner name searches open the Allegheny County Recorder of Deeds' own website in a new tab. We don't see what you search there.

Other services the site loads

To work, the site loads content from these providers, which may log your IP address under their own privacy policies:

• Esri, for map tiles
• Google Fonts, for typefaces
• cdnjs, for the map library
• Allegheny County, for property photos and records
• PASDA at Penn State, as a backup source for lot outlines

Public records

Owner names and mailing addresses on this site come from Allegheny County's public records. We don't add to them or change them. To correct a record, contact the county Office of Property Assessments at LandHelp@AlleghenyCounty.US.

Children

This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
